Welcome to the Osterhout Lake People Association website! We are excited to launch this new website and increase communication and engagement with members and area residents.
Quick recap from the Spring May 24th OLPI meeting
-Susan McCann introduced as president to fulfill remainder of Joe Kucala’s term. Joe has sold his property on the lake and is moving on to pursue his next chapter of life. We thank him for his service.
-Bloomingdale Communications made a short presentation about the installation of fiber around the lake that will bring high-speed Internet service.
-Some milfoil seen growing, and PLM will treat week of June 9.
-A vote was taken to discontinue the work to establish a Special Assessment District to fund lake treatments at this time. We will continue the process of voluntary payments of the annual weed treatment fee.
-Anyone interested in running for one of the officers’ positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) during the fall elections is asked to reach out to any current board member, including their area director.

One of the Board's initiatives for this term was to review and update the Association's By-Laws. Thanks to Michael Daigle, Bradley Borowiec, Susan McCann, and the entire OLPI Board for their work. We finalized the proposed Amended & Restated ByLaws and will be presenting them for review and vote this coming Saturday. The current and proposed ByLaws are available for download at the bottom of this page under DOCUMENTS FOR DOWNLOAD.
The changes are summarized as follows:

Reminder on Weed Assessment and Dues:
Weed assessment and membership dues were mailed out in February and they must be paid to be a member in Good Standing. If you did not receive your notice, please reach out to us.
Weed treatment update:
2023: On June 7 55 acres of Milfoil was treated by PLM with a contact herbicide. A survey of the lake took place on 8/4 and the results were good, not warranting a fall treatment at that time. Another evaluation will take place in early September to determine a final recommendation. The results of this year's treatment are comparable and somewhat improved over last year, when a systemic herbicide was used. It appears that the milfoil may have become resistant to this herbicide as it did not kill the roots.
